CAFEGEC

Empowering Smallholders Women Farmers in Cameroon

CAFEGEC is working closely with women farmers groups in the South West Region, in Cameroon. CAFEGEC is building the capacity of the rural women farmers in micro-finance, pest and diseases, record keeping, Use of Agrochemicals, Land preparation, Agricultural literacy, Agricultural marketing, E-Commerce, climate change education, Soil and Forest conservation through   women farmers network meetings. CAFEGEC is looking forward to empowered more than 500 smallholders Farmers in Cameroon to increase their household income by 70% alleviating Hunger and Poverty in Cameroon following the 2030 agenda of CAFEGEC.

Plantain Farming in Bokova Village (In Progress).

The Plantain Farming project in Bokova Village aims to enhance local agriculture and provide sustainable livelihoods for residents. This initiative focuses on cultivating high-quality plantains, a staple food in the region, while promoting environmentally friendly farming practices.

Objectives:

  • Economic Empowerment: Generate income for local farmers through increased plantain production and market access.
  • Sustainability: Implement eco-friendly farming techniques to preserve soil health and biodiversity.
  • Community Engagement: Involve villagers in all stages of the project, from planting to harvesting, fostering a sense of ownership and collaboration.
